Characteristics and application scope of FRP tank

Oct 28, 2021

FRP tank is a container used in the field of water treatment. It is made of FRP, that is, reinforced plastic made of glass fiber and high-performance resin. It can be used to form filters, water softeners and water purifiers.

FRP tank has the special properties of FRP materials, such as light weight, high strength and strong corrosion resistance. In addition, the special process makes the characteristics of FRP water treatment tank more prominent.

Characteristics of FRP water treatment tank

1. Corrosion resistance:  the tank body is made of anti-corrosion materials

2. High strength: the tensile strength can exceed that of carbon steel, and the specific strength can be compared with that of high-grade alloy steel

3. Light weight: the relative density is between 1.5 ~ 2.0, only 1 / 4 ~ 1 / 5 of that of carbon steel

4. Non toxic and hygienic: the inner tank adopts food grade PE, which is non-toxic, hygienic, safe and reliable

5. Beautiful appearance: the inner tank is integrally formed by automatic instrument blow molding or roll molding, and the outer layer is three-dimensional wound by high-performance resin.

Application scope of FRP water treatment tank

1. Filter: it can be divided into activated carbon filter, quartz sand filter, iron and manganese removal filter, multi-media filter, etc.

2. Water softener: the tank is filled with ion exchange resin to reduce the hardness ions such as calcium and magnesium in the water. Water softeners are commonly used to treat domestic water in northern areas and mountainous areas with high hardness.

3. Water purifier: used for water purification. In case of poor water quality, it can be combined with filtration and softening.

The FRP water treatment tank shall be installed indoors as far as possible to avoid direct light. In winter, attention shall be paid to antifreeze to prevent the tank from being frozen and cracked.
