The function of the filter element of the water purifier is simply purification, and its functions vary according to the material of the filter element. In these four kinds of water purifiers, PP cotton filter element is the main filter element of almost every kind of water purifier.
1. PP cotton filter element of water purifier
Ppcotton filter element is one of the most heard and widely used filter elements of water purifier. Its function is to intercept large particle impurities, such as suspended solids, sediment, rust, etc. It is also the first stage filter element of the water purifier. PP cotton is characterized by the use of melt blown filter element, which is made of polypropylene ultra-fine fiber hot-melt entanglement. The fiber randomly forms a three-dimensional microporous structure in space. The pore size is distributed in a gradient along the filtrate flow direction, integrating surface, deep and fine filtration.
2. Activated carbon filter of water purifier
Activated carbon filter element is usually made of coal, sawdust, fruit shell, coconut shell and other materials through advanced process equipment, high temperature, compression, sintering and other steps. It is mainly used to absorb residual chlorine, different color and peculiar smell in water. Generally speaking, the larger the surface area of carbon particles, the stronger the adsorption, the higher the filtration accuracy, and the better the filtration effect.
3. KDF (copper and zinc alloy) filter of water purifier
KDF (copper and zinc alloy) filter element is mostly used for central water purification. It uses electrochemical redox (electron transfer) to remove chlorine and heavy metals in water and inhibit bacterial growth. Moreover, it is mixed with activated carbon for filter element to increase the service life of activated carbon.
