On January 14, China Power Construction Corporation (China Power) announced that its subsidiary, China Power International Engineering Co., Ltd., signed a contract with the Basra Provincial Government for a seawater desalination project in Basra, Iraq, with a contract value of approximately RMB 17.193 billion.
The project mainly involves the design and construction of a seawater desalination plant with a daily production capacity of 1 million cubic meters, a water transmission system with a daily supply capacity of 1 million cubic meters, and a supporting self-owned power station with a total installed capacity of 300MW.
The project has a limited commencement period of 6 months and a main construction period of 1350 days, with a defect liability period of 24 months.
